Terry Taylor scored 20 points and Zion Harmon had 17 as Bowling Green pulled away in the second half to beat Graves County 68-51 Wednesday in a first round game at the KHSAA Sweet 16 Boys Basketball Tournament.
Graves County (27-8) trailed 31-29 at halftime but the Purples used a 20-8 third quarter run to build a double-digit lead. Harmon's two free throws with 2:33 left in the game gave Bowling Green (33-2) its largest lead at 66-45.
The Eagles struggled from the outside, making only 2-of-17 three-point shots. They also committed 15 turnovers. Eight of those came in the third quarter, which the Purples converted into 12 points. Bowling Green went 5-for-15 from deep and only turned the ball over 5 times.
Jordyn Naranjo led the Eagles with 11 points. Chris Vogt had 8 points 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Trevor Grant finished with 8 points and Brady Wetherington chipped in with 7.
Bowling Green advances to Friday's quarterfinals, where they will face Scott County.
