Murray State's complete basketball schedule won't be released for several more weeks but according to Andy Katz at ESPN.com, the Racers have accepted an invitation to be part of this year's Charleston (SC) Classic, scheduled for Nov. 15-18.

Coach Steve Prohm chose the Charleston tournament over this year's NIT Season Tip-Off. The Racers would have played at Kansas State in the first round of the NIT and a win over the Wildcats would have put Murray State at Madison Square Gardens in New York City for the semifinals. But Prohm and the Racers opted for the Charleston Classic, which reportedly offered a bigger payoff and guarantees the Racers three games against quality competition.

The Racers complete the eight-team field in the Charleston tourney with Baylor, Boston College, Charleston, Colorado, Dayton, St. John’s and Southern Illinois. Baylor is the favorite in this tournament but Katz said Murray State should be seeded second or at the least third in this field.
