Poythress made the announcement Thursday via his Twitter account.
Poythress, averaged 5.5 points in eight games last season before an ACL tear in December ended his season. The 6'8” forward averaged 11.2 points per game during the 2012-13 season.
The announcement comes just days after seven of his Kentucky teammates announced their intentions to go into the upcoming NBA draft.
