Pope, Williams Lead Chiefs Past Oilers 6-1

PADUCAH, KY - Paducah's Reid Pope homered and Grant Williams held Owensboro was held to just four hits as the Chiefs beat the Oilers 6-1 Thursday night at Brooks Stadium.

Pope finished 1-for-3 with 3 RBI. Brandon Kelly was 2-for-5 and Nick Shumaker went 1-for-5 with 2 RBI. Jakob Shuler, Niko Jenkins, Cam Curry and Cody Jackson each had a hit for Owensboro (15-19).

Grant Williams picked up the win for Paducah. He went the distance, giving up just 1 run on 4 hits with 7 strikeouts. Payton Griffin took the loss.

The Chiefs (16-17) play at Owensboro tonight and at Fulton on Saturday night. They host Fulton on Sunday.

All Chiefs home games start at 6:30. Tickets are only five dollars, and chair seats for ten dollars.
