Pitino writes that the 6-10 Spalding had surgery that set the sophomore back in strength and weight gain. The coach added he expects to have Spaldingback in no time and that he's working to reduce turnovers and improve his jumper after he averaged 5.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season.
