McMahon has spent the last four years as an assistant coach at MSU, helping lead the Racers to a 104-29 record, two Ohio Valley Conference regular season titles and a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2012.
In his first season with the Racers in 2011-12, McMahon was part of an amazing campaign that saw MSU go 31-2 and spend 13 weeks in the national polls and rising as high No. 10. MSU was the only undefeated NCAA D-I road team and was the final undefeated team at 23-0. The Racers enjoyed their highest seed in the NCAA Tournament (No. 6) and won the third game in the history of the program with a win over Colorado State. The Racers set a school and Ohio Valley Conference record with 31 wins.
McMahon came to Murray State after spending the 2010-11 season with Coach Buzz Peterson at UNC-Wilmington.
