Juniors Pokey Harris and Janawski Davis have earned 2014 All-OVC honors, the league announced Tuesday. Harris was named to the first team as a return specialist, while Davis was named to the second team as a receiver. This is the first conference postseason honor for both players.

Harris was one of the top returners in FCS this season, taking back a nation-leading three kick-off returns for touchdowns and finishing sixth in the nation in yards per return at 28.8, both of which also led the OVC. In addition, Harris finished 2014 second in the OVC and 23rd in the country in all-purpose yards at 138.4 per game and first in the OVC and seventh in all of the FCS in total return yards at 920.

The Winchester, Kentucky native made history at EIU when he became the first Racer ever  to return a kick-off 100 yards for a touchdown. One week later he repeated the feat at EKU, becoming the third-ever OVC player with two 100-yard returns for a touchdown and the first-ever to do it in consecutive games.

Davis, a native of Eight Mile, Alabama, led the MSU receiving corps on the season with 13 touchdowns on 909 total yards for an average of 14.4 yards per reception and 75.8 yard per game. He currently leads the OVC in touchdown receptions and is sixth in the FCS. Davis started all 12 games for the Racers this season and led the team in catches of 20-yards or more with 19, including seven for touchdowns and a long of 75.

Davis' 13 receiving touchdowns will go down as the second most in a single-season in program history, while his total yards rank as the ninth best. Prior to this season, only three Racers had ever caught 13 or more touchdown passes in a season; Billy Hess with 13 in 1968, Walter Powell also with 13 in 2013, while Terrance Tillman caught a program record 14 in 1999.
