Four Murray State football player earned accolades from the Ohio Valley Conference Tuesday when the league announced its annual postseason awards list. Senior wide receiver Jordon Gandy and redshirt senior defensive back D'Montre Wade were both named to the first team, while redshirt sophomore kicker Gabriel Vicente was named to the second team. In addition, Vicente and redshirt junior quarterback Shuler Bentley were both named to the All-Newcomer team.

Gandy racked up 965 yards on 65 catches this season to go along with 10 touchdowns. The senior led the league in receiving touchdowns and finished second in total yards, yards per game (86.7) and receptions per game (5.9). Gandy finished his career with Murray State with a total of 2,065 yards, making him just the eighth player in school history to amass 2,000-plus yards in a career. He also finished his time at MSU ninth all-time in receptions, third in receiving touchdowns and third in 100-plus yard games.

D'Montre Wade led the OVC in interceptions on the year with six and finished second nationally in interceptions per game with 0.6. The redshirt senior also added 33 tackles, 2.0 tackles-for-loss, and seven pass breakups. He is now just the eighth player in school history to garner at least six receptions in a single season and the first since 2004. In addition, Wade finished his time in blue and gold as the program's career leader in pass breakups with 35 and passes defended with 45, since those two categories begin being kept in 1994, and ninth all-time in interceptions with 10.

Vicente, who prior to this season had never played organized football, had an outstanding first season with the Racers by going 14-for-18 on field goals with a long of 52 yards. He was also near perfect on PATs, missing just one at 23-for-24. Perhaps his highlight of his season came at UT Martin, as he nailed the game winner from 33 yards out, in the rain, as time expired.

Bentley's first season at Murray State proved to be a productive one as he racked up 1,789 yards, 187 completions and 13 touchdowns on 328 attempts with just four interceptions. The transfer from Old Dominion led the league in in passing yards per game at 198.8 and completions per game at 20.78, while also posting the second-highest completion percentage in the OVC at 57.0 percent.

Tuesday's first-team honor marks the second consecutive for Gandy and the first for Wade, after being named to the second team a year ago. With his honor, Vicente becomes the first Racer kicker to earn All-OVC accolades since Kienan Cullen in 2009.
