Murray State women's basketball coach Rechelle Turner has announced the signing of Evelyn Adebayo a 6-0 forward from London, England.

Adebayo is a transfer from Gardner Webb University where she spent her freshman and sophomore seasons. Adebayo will sit out the upcoming 2017-18 season and will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Racers.

While with the Runnin' Bulldogs, Adebayo played in 56 games and made seven starts. In 2016-17, she averaged 5.7 points and a team-high 5.3 rebounds per game. She scored in double figures in 10 games and recorded two double-doubles. Against Western Carolina last season, Adebayo scored a career-high 14 points and grabbed nine boards in the victory.

"Evelyn is an experienced player that will bring toughness and physicality to our team," said Turner. "She is a proven Division I player and we are excited to have her."

Adebayo attended Barking Abbey School in London, helping lead them to the U19 school final fours. She also helped guide Newham to the National Club u18 final fours and was selected to play for Great Britain in the U20 European Championships.
