Kale Abrahamson scored a career-high 41 points, including the go-ahead basket in overtime, and Drake held off Western Kentucky for an 81-79 victory on Monday night in the Gulf Coast Showcase.

Drake's Graham Woodward opened overtime with a 3-pointer and, after Chris McNeal answered with a layup for his first basket of the game, Reed Timmer completed a 3-point play to give the Bulldogs a 74-70 lead.

Western Kentucky made a 3-pointer on its next three possessions, but Drake answer with two points each time. Timmer made 1 of 2 free throws with 8 seconds left and the Hilltoppers' Nigel Snipes missed a 3-pointer in the closing seconds.

Abrahamson was 13 of 23 from the field, with four 3-pointers, and made all 11 of his free throws for Drake (2-2). He had a long 3-pointer roll out just before the regulation buzzer.
