Murray State's Damarcus Croaker advanced in the Dark Horse Dunker online fan vote competition on Tuesday, but won't be going forward in the contest in which the winner gets to compete in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships at the Final Four.

Croaker, a senior from Orlando, Florida, suffered a broken bone in his right foot on Senior Night Saturday when the Racers took on Eastern Illinois. Croaker made a drive to the lane in the first minute of the game when the injury occurred, ending his playing career at Murray State.

MSU fans came up big in the opening round of voting by giving Croaker 68 percent of the vote a move into the second round past Chris Davenport of North Florida.

After his injury, Croaker felt he should discontinue in the competition and it was fitting that he hand it off to his friend Davenport, with whom he played AAU basketball.

"Chris is a good friend and we played on the same team together with the Florida Rams," Croaker said. "Since I wouldn't be able to compete anymore, I felt that the best thing to do was for Chris to go for it."

So with Croaker out, Davenport moves into the second round against Southeast Missouri State's Antonius Cleveland.

You can see the bracket at DarkHorseDunker.com.

The final player left from the field of 16 will advance to the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships during Final Four weekend in Phoenix, Arizona on March 30, 2017 on ESPN.
