University of Kentucky senior linebacker Josh Allen was named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week for the third time this season, it was announced today.

The last player to win the POW award three times was Manti Te'o of Notre Dame in 2012.

Allen, a native of Montclair, New Jersey, had a career-high 15 tackles, including two sacks and two tackles for loss in the Wildcats' 34-23 win over Middle Tennessee on Senior Day. With 27.5 career sacks and 13 sacks on the season, Allen now holds UK's career and single-season records.

Eleven of his 13 sacks this year have been in the second half, three in the third quarter and eight in the fourth. UK has not allowed a point this season on all 13 opponent possessions that Allen has a sack.
