Shirley Mayo Keeling, age 81 of Paducah, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at her residence.
Shirley was born on February 3, 1938 in LaCenter to the late Christal and Bertie Bobo Mayo. She was of the Baptist Faith. Shirley will be remembered as being extremely funny and quick witted. She was also very benevolent with family and friends and would do anything for anyone with no expectation of anything in return.
Shirley worked as a Project Analyst at the U.S.E.C. plant for most of her career. She also worked for the City of Paducah Police Department and for Lourdes Hospital in the Personnel Department. Shirley was a true artist who loved to draw and play the piano in her free time.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sara Wade and husband, John of Louisville; son, Gene Dowdy of Murray; step-daughter Paula Bell and husband, Brian of Lone Oak; four grandchildren, Madison Wade of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ashley Dowdy, Savanna Dowdy, both of Dallas, Texas and Reese Bell of Lone Oak; one great-grandchild, Alex Contreras of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Keeling, and her parents.
A memorial service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
