Shirley A. Henderson, 73, Paducah, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, 12:03 pm, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Shirley attended New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church of Brookport, Il and Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Paducah. She was a graduate of the former Lincoln High School and had been employed as a certified medical and nursing assistant at Riverfront Terrace Nursing Facility, and Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center from which she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Brooks, Sr. and Shirley Desrine Milliken Jenkins, step-father Wardelle Jenkins and a brother.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Marthrel Bramley of Paducah and a son, James “June” Marthrel of Louisville; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joseph Sherril of Paducah, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 24, 2014, 1:00pm, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Calvin R. Cole, Sr. will officiate, and burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may also call at the church on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
