Funeral services for Sallee Allison Campbell, 66, of Paducah, Kentucky, will take place Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah on Blandville Rd. A private burial will follow.
Mrs. Campbell passed away February 21, 2019 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Born August 13, 1952, in Paducah, she was a 1970 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. She attended Paducah Community College and Draughon’s Business College of Paducah. Sallee worked as a secretary for prominent Paducah attorney Joe Freeland before moving to Houston in 1974.
In 1978, she returned to Paducah, where she would meet, and eventually in 1982 marry, John L. Campbell, her husband of 30 years before his passing in 2012. She believed the greatest gift he gave her, besides his love, was the opportunity to raise her boys as a stay-at-home mom.
Sallee loved to cook, garden, dance and laugh. She won several awards for her window displays at Market@315 on Broadway, the downtown Paducah store she and John managed from 2006 until 2012. She loved the Kentucky Wildcats and enjoyed watching games in the kitchen with her family and friends.
Sallee was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Campbell, and her mother and father, Allison E. and Russell M. Chittenden.
She is survived by three sons, John Louis “Jay” Campbell, Jr., Heston Campbell and wife Kristy, of Paducah, and Hunter Campbell and wife Hannah, of Louisville; and 12 grandchildren, Nicholas Cox, Catherine Campbell, Caitlin Campbell, Katelynn Harris, John Louis “Jack” Campbell III, Lindsay Campbell, Haley Harris, Emma Campbell, Aubrey Campbell, Cullen Campbell, Russell Campbell and Gus Campbell.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
