Sadie Langdon Scheffer, 90, of Paducah, Kentucky formerly of Cairo and Mounds, Illinois passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Memorial Herman Katy Hospital in Katy, Texas. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Sadie was retired bookkeeper for Banks Grocery Company for 40 plus years. She was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church.
Sadie is survived by her daughter, Susan Duncan and husband Keith of Houston, Texas; son, Russell Scheffer and wife Vickie of Paducah, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Vince (Lisa) Scheffer, Gregory Scheffer, Kyle (Kisha) Scheffer, Rebecca ( Chris/Olyvia Klopfenstein) Flood, Trevor Scheffer, Kenneth Scheffer, Bryan Duncan and Thomas “Tad” Duncan; thirteen great grandchildren, Laken Edwards, Jessie Davis, Jason Davis, Ayla Davis, Amber Arnold, Keaton Scheffer, Darian Scheffer, Ethan Scheffer, Tori Sherron, Isaac Scheffer, Madelyn flood and Lydia Flood; three great great grandchildren, Robbie Scheffer, Willow Scheffer and Stella Scheffer; cousins, Shirley Lambert and Loretta Lane and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent “Bob” Scheffer; daughter, Jean Andresen; brothers, Kenneth Langdon, William Langdon, Miles Merritt and Raymond Merritt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bruce McCarty officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
