Ronald Thomas Hobbs, 69, of Shelbyville, formerly of Paducah and Mayfield, died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at University of Louisville Hospital.
Ronnie was born in Paducah, KY on August 22, 1946 to William “Jack” and Mary Hobbs. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a retired auto mechanic.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, William Allard and Mary Edna Clementyne Hobbs; brother, Ewing Hobbs; sisters, Lovette Clark and Patricia Ann Hamm Grimes; and first wife Martha Jane Waltmon.
Ronnie is survived by both of his sons, David (Trisha) of Shelbyville and Jonathan (Jeannette) of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Lauren Hobbs, Leslie Hobbs, Mekenzie Hobbs, Brandon Hobbs, Kaitlyn Hobbs, Ricky Levering, and Vinnie Levering; a brother, Glenn Hobbs; a sister, Sherry Breedlove; and several nieces and nephews.
Family was very important to Ronnie and he treasured his time with them. He often said how much he loved his kids and his grandkids. Many of the stories he best loved to tell involved birthday parties for his grandkids. Recent hobbies included enjoying hot dogs on the sidelines of soccer games and spending afternoons sitting outdoors with his friends at his apartment in Shelbyville. He loved to make the people around him laugh.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
