Ron (Papa D) David, age 77, of Paducah, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:25 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Baptist Health of Paducah.
Ron was born in St. Louis, MO on December 8, 1936 to Ernest David and Sylvia Opal (Gates) David. He was employed at ABF Truck Lines of Fort Smith, AR where he served as Regional Vice-President for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1956-1959. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and UK basketball fan. He loved to play golf, dance and was an awesome Elvis impersonator.
He was a member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church in Paducah where he sang in the choir.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda Sue (Bailey) David of Paducah; daughter, Kim Berran and husband Roger of Swansea, IL; son, Ron David and wife Brenda of Albany, N.Y.; three step-daughters, Laurie Kemps and husband Steven of Dallas, TX, Debbie Burge and husband Ronnie of Arlington, KY, Rica Lindsey and husband David of LaCenter, KY; step-son, Tim Kinsey of Paducah; sister, Phillipene Martin and husband Kenny of St. Louis, MO; half-sister, Sharon David; half-brother, Ernie David; four grandchildren, Laurie Maier, Karen Kjellberg, Krista David and Cameron David; four step-grandchildren, Sammie Jo Roberts and husband David, Lauren Pace and husband Brian, Hunter Burge and wife, Courtney, Shelbie Ralph, Johnny Kemps and Sam Kemps; three great grandchildren, Brice and Ava Maier and Elijah Kjellberg; step-great grandchildren, Georgia Reese, Samuel Roberts and Parker Pace; and his loyal puppy dog, Sage.
HE was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson-in-law, Jonathan Maier.
Funeral services for Ron David will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Revs. Louis Brinker and Don Pippin officiating. Burial will follow in the LaCenter Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the funeral home.
