Paul E. DeWitt, age 78, of Paducah, and formerly of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Superior Care Home.

 

Paul was born on October 30, 1940 to the late S.D. and Addie DeWitt.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired Deputy Sheriff for Little Rock-Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  While serving as deputy, Paul was responsible for taking photographs of crime scenes for investigative purposes which then lead to a lifelong love affair with photography.  Later in life, he was afflicted with Macular Degeneration and his camera became his eyes to be able to see the world.  

 

Paul will be remembered as a simple man who was laid back and relaxed and loved computers and technology.

 

The family would like to recognize and thank Nita Spraggs for all the care that she extended Paul and for being such a special caregiver to him.

 

Mr. DeWitt is survived by eight cousins, Barbara Clark, Carol Gault-Dunbar, Joyce Houston, David Wright, Richard Wright, Keith Sanders, Tim Sanders, Thomas Tipton.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edgar Gene DeWitt.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield, KY.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
