Paul Edward Cissell, 79, of Paducah, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at his home.
Paul was born in McCracken County, Kentucky on November 9, 1937 to Melvin and Lenore Poat Cissell. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy served in the United States Army. Paul retired from the United States Postal Service after a lengthy career and was a member of the postal union. He had served on the parish council and was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. An avid reader and historian, Paul was a proud member of Paducah Ambassadors and enjoyed welcoming visitors to his beloved city.
He is survived by two sisters, Margie Cissell Smith of Paducah and Barbara Cissell (Jack) Ballard of Boaz; and five nieces and one nephew.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, J.B., Charles, Thomas and Cletus Cissell; and brother-in-law, Dwain Smith.
A funeral mass will be held at 10am Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce McCarty officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 5pm Sunday evening at the church. Prayers will be recited at 6pm.
