Patricia Ann Hines, age 66, of Paducah, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, 8:35 a.m., at her residence.

 She was a member of Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Usher Ministry, Youth Usher Ministry, Sunday School, Marriage Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Mothers and Deaconess Board, and Culinary Committee.  She was a graduate of Union County High School and West Kentucky Vocational School where she received certification in business administration and was named Miss West Kentucky in 1970.  She was a retiree of P&L Railway, Inc. as an Assistant Manager Operations and Finance, having served 39 years.  She was also a life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and a member of Alpha Gamma Tau, Friends of the Library, West Kentucky Alumni Association, American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association and was also an alumnus of the University of Kentucky.  Pat was a published author and had received the 2007 NAACP Community Service Award.  

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jonathan Hines of Paducah; one daughter, TaSonja (Kyle) Hibbler; two grandchildren, Kyle Hibbler II and McKenzie Hibbler, both of Mableton, GA; one step-daughter, Jonah (Therester) Cox of Medina, OH; one step-granddaughter, Breanna Cox of Medina, OH; two brothers, Harlan Davis, Jr. of Morganfield and Charles Davis of California; five sisters, Dorothy(Frank) Babbage of Uniontown, Doris (John) Mack of Sturgis, Sonja (Billy) Harris, Xalana Hughes and Brenda Kinard, all of Morganfield; several nieces, nephews, and cousins includingspecial cousins Mary D. Clemmons and Regina Boutte, both of El Paso, TX and special friend, Pearl Carter, Paducah, KY.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlan E. Davis, Sr. and Portia Mae Smith Lee; four brothers, James Allen, Caulbert Davis, Jr., Robert Davis and James Davis; three grandchildren and one step-granddaughter.

 

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. James L. Hudson officiating.  Burial will follow in High Hill Cemetery in Sturgis, KY.

 

Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

 

Family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and the West KY Alumni Association.
