Mrs. Opal Pearl Evans, age 91 of Monroe, Ohio, formerly of Calvert City, KY, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Hamilton Hospice, Hamilton, OH.
Born Sunday, July 11, 1926 in Pittsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Robert V. Mathis and the late Mae (Dunaway) Mathis. She was the wife of 74 years to the late Walter Russell Evans.
She was a Homemaker and was a Postmaster for the community of Pittsburg, KY. She was a member of Monroe Presbyterian Church, Monroe, OH.
Surviving are her daughter, Susan Lampley, husband Danny of Cadiz, KY, her son, Robert Evans, wife Deborah of Versailles, KY. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Lara Hunter, Evan Lampley, Arron Lampley, Catherine Chaton, Jennifer Evans and two great grandchildren, Kaisan and Emma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandson, Ryan Paul Evans.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.at the Marshall County Memory Gardens, Benton, KY. Rev. Adele Ambler will officiate. Interment will follow the service.
No public visitation is scheduled.
