Nina Hendon, age 84 of Paducah passed away at 9:36 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at Mercy Health Lourdes. Nina was a native of Waverly, TN and was a graduate of Waverly High School. Nina was a long time member of Lone Oak United Methodist Church. She volunteered at Lourdes Hospital, VFW, and was former PTA President in the Lone Oak Schools. Nina loved to cross-stitch, needlepoint and was a true Chicago Cubs baseball fan. Nina enjoyed cooking and having family around to share with them.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne (Ramona) Hendon, Dallas, TX, Bruce Hendon, Smithland, KY, Glenn (Terry) Hendon, Nashville, TN; one brother, Loyd (Rose) Parnell, Fairview, TN; five grandchildren, Kristy (Robert) Barkley, Blake (Jami) Gilliland, Travis (Victoria) Hendon, Dakota Hendon and Brooke (JP) Birchfield; ten great-grandchildren, Isaac Estes-Adoff, Kassidy, Sophia and Andrew Barkley, Maysen and Cooper Gilliland, Jaxson Hendon, Cain Wallace, Gavin Hawkins and Jada Birchfield; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was her father, Neal Wallace Parnell; mother and step-father, Elsie Toland Batton & Homer Batton who raised her; one sister, Mildred Hopwood and one brother, Neal Parnell.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Sam Chambers officiating. Entombment will follow at Brook Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
