Murray Thomas Looper, 58, of Paducah, died on Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Murray was born in Paducah on October 14, 1959 to Bobby and Barbara Looper. He was a 1978 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School where he excelled in track and wrestling. Described as a man with many talents and interests, Murray worked a variety of jobs during his lifetime: Amerisource Bergen, EMT/Firefighter, real estate, and setting up diabetes shops across the tri-state area. In addition, he worked for the City of Paducah in park maintenance at Noble Park and was President of AFSCME Local #1586. His lifelong desire was to be a servant leader who led people to Jesus and this mission was accomplished through many area churches and ministries, beginning with Bible Baptist (now Heartland Church). He and his wife, Melissa, established a non-profit ministry known as “Bridge for the Kingdom”, which included speaking engagements, missions and inner-healing ministry.
A man of God who cherished his family, Murray leaves behind his wife, Melissa Turner Looper; children, Tiffany Louise Looper, Sean Robert (Casey Kelly) Looper, Cameron Thomas (Olivia Harp) Looper, and Cameron Tyler Herzog; grandchildren, Chesney Looper, Nolan Looper and a grandchild to arrive in May; siblings, Miranda Baker, Tammy Hunt, April Harris, Tamekia Allcock, and Casey Don Looper; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bobby Lee Looper and Barbara June Fowler Looper.
Funeral services will be held at 6pm Thursday evening at Heartland Church with Revs. Don Young and Mickey Brown officiating.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5-8pm at the church and Thursday evening after 5pm.
Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
A love offering box will be set up at the church for those who want to contribute.
