Maurice A. Scheer age 93, of Paducah passed away at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, April, 20, 2019 at Southgate Nursing and Rehab in Metropolis, Illinois. Maurice was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a retired Concrete Mixer Operator. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy and a member of the International Union of Operators. Maurice loved his family and having them around to play cards, board games and just visiting.
Survivors include four daughters, Marcia Kaye (Sam) Washam, Gilbertsville, KY, Pamela Ann White, St. Louis MO, Peggy J. Williams, Lexington, KY and Susan Taylor White, Gulf Breeze, FL; two sisters, Marie Alsip and Catherine Sutton both of Paducah; one brother, Francis (Dorothy) Scheer, Paducah; eight grandchildren, Michael (Tammy) Washam, Kevin (Kelly) Washam, Stephanie Peace, Laura (Tim) Merello, Jame Bryan Williams, Melanie Williams, Derek Taylor and Ethan Taylor; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in him in death was his wife, Ada Frances Scheer; his parents, William M. Scheer & Mary Odelia Roof Scheer; one sister, Mary Denise Willett; three brothers, William Scheer, Martin Scheer and Charles Henry Scheer.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce Fogle officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rosary beginning at 5:00 p.m.
