Maudine Barnes Buchanan, 75, of Paducah, KY, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Sycamore-Shoals Hospital in Elizabethon, TN.
Maudine was born in Friona, TX on January 19, 1942 to Wesley and Lucille Barnes. She was a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. She retired from the Kentucky Department of Human Resources, Bureau for Social Services. Maudine was a member of Paducah First Baptist Church. In retirement, Maudine spent many happy hours scrapbooking and card making.
Ms. Buchanan is survived by her brothers, Royce Barnes (Connie), of Sperry, OK, Wesley Barnes, Jr., of Hoisington, KS, her nieces, Marcie Strong (Dewayne), of Ruckersville, VA, Jennifer Barnes, of Roswell, NM, and Tosha Barnes, of Grand Junction, TX., nephews, Lance White(Marybeth) of Murfreesboro, TN, Doug Barnes (Amy), of Farwell, TX, 9 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.
Ms. Buchanan was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Edward Irvin Buchanan; her parents, Wesley Ray Barnes and Lucille Crain Barnes; her sister, Wynell Barnes White, and a nephew, Les Barnes.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah, with Royce Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Gage, KY. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
