Mary Katherine Koontz-Sanders, 75, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 8:17 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital.
Mary Katherine was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church. She was an Operator for Bell South, a Switch Board Operator for Lourdes Hospital and retired as an Operator from ATT. She was the owner of Cakes by Kathy & Catering Service in Marshall County and was a member of the Homemakers Club.
Mary Katherine is survived by her husband, Dewey Wayne Sanders; a son, Darrell Glen Koontz and wife, Shellie of Paducah; a grandson, Justin Glen Koontz of Paducah; a great-granddaughter, Taryn Claire Koontz; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Edgar Koontz; two sisters, Barbara Knight and Rada Ramsey; a brother, Robert Goodman. Her parents were Raymond and Josephine Merryman Goodman.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bruce Fogle officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. The Rosary will be said at 5:00 p.m.
