Mary Rogers, 87 of West Paducah passed away at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at River Haven Nursing Home. Mary was a Christian of the Southern Baptist Faith and a member of West End Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Heath High School and Murray State University. Mary taught 32 years at Concord Elementary and taught at Concord the year the school opened. She has been WMU (Women’s Missonary Union) Director at West End Baptist Church for nine years. She loved mission work, children, reading and was deeply devoted to her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Rogers Taylor, Paducah; one sister, Patricia Ann Dowdy Rogers, West Paducah; four grandchildren, Robert Eidson, Richard (Tanna) Eidson, Mychal (Amy) Rogers and Tiffany Rogers Beasley; nine great-grandchildren, Lexie Beasley, Kyra Beasley, Brendan Rogers, Clayton Eidson, Apollo Rogers, Kaya Eidson, Layla Eidson, Richard Eidson Jr and Joseph Eidson; one neice, Meredith Rogers and several cousins.
Preceding her in death was her husband Bobby Joe Rogers; daughter, Brenda Rogers; parents, Richard Clay Dowdy & Naomi Katherine Wallace Dowdy.
Services will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Revs. Donald Chadwick and Howard Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
