Marie Ripperden, age 93, of Paducah, formerly of Ironton, Missouri, passed away at 6:55 A.M. on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Calvert City Convalescent Center.
Marie was born on April 8, 1926 in Graniteville, Missouri to the late Elza and Emma Miller Orrick. She attended Reidland Baptist Church. Marie was a great seamstress and enjoyed crocheting. She loved gardening and had quite a green thumb.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue McCarty of Paducah, Kentucky; step-son, Ralph Ripperden of Norris City, Illinois; two sisters, Edna Douglas of Potosi, Missouri and Martha Cozine of Pilot Knob, Missouri; two grandchildren, Meredith Baker and husband, Todd of Nashville, Tennessee, Melissa Statham, and husband, Pete Carino of Atlanta, Georgia; two step-grandchildren, Deanna Speicer, husband, Todd and Darrin Ripperden, wife, Amie; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Ervin Ripperden; her parents; one sister, Emma Isabell Cloyn; and six brothers, Donald Orrick, Raymond “Pete” Orrick, Albert “Ab” Orrick, Emery “Tub” Orrick, Jim Orrick and Bill Orrick.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Ironton, MO.
