Marian Wyatt Mansfield Bates , 81 of Paducah, KY passed away at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 at her residence.
Marian was a native of Mayfield, KY and long time member of Grace Episcopal Church of Paducah where she served on the Vestry and Christian Education Committee. She was a 1955 graduate of Mayfield High School and a graduate of Murray State University with a degree in English. Marian was an avid pianist and organist and served the St. Peter’s of the Lakes Episcopal Church for several years. She was very active in many civic organizations including Paducah Symphony, Market House Theatre, Charity League of Paducah, La Petite Fleur Garden Club, Philanthropic Educational Organization and a volunteer for the Quilt Museum.
Survivors include husband, William “Bill” Bates; two sons, John Parks of Paducah and Jason (Kelli) Parks of Georgetown, KY; two grandchildren, Emily Parks and Sarah Parks; step-daughter, Lucinda Jo Meeks of Boise, ID; step-son, Howard Earl Bates of Kingman, AZ; several step-grandchildren.
Preceding in death was her first husband, John B. Parks; parents, Dalton Biggs Mansfield & Claudine Wyatt Mansfield.
Services will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. Charles Uhlik officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield, KY. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
