Margaret Vanatta Horn, 88, of Paducah, Kentucky, formerly of Bakersfield, CA,  passed away at 7:00 P.M. on June 21, 2019 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Margaret was born on October 16, 1930 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Victor and Hazel Vanatta.  Through the many changes in her life, her faith in Jesus Christ was always her focus, and she considered her greatest accomplishment to be watching her four sons accept Jesus as their savior.  With faith as her focus, she moved to Paducah, KY to be with her son and soon became a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church where she found a supportive group of friends she could worship with.  Margaret enjoyed painting, her eldest son is a world famous watercolor artist, but her passion was her 4 boys.  She was always there for them with positive encouragement and a warm loving hug. She lived for cooking and made it her mission to feed her family.  She grew to have a fondness for golf through cheering on her husband and boys, also known as the “Horn Foresome”, as they navigated the courses they played. She also enjoyed watching golf on TV, as well as the Food Network and HGTV.  Her greatest love was for her children and she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons, Duane Anderson and wife, Carol, of Bakersfield, California, Bob Horn, Jr. of Paducah, Bill Horn and wife, Kim, of Branson, Missouri and Stan Horn of Fresno, California; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Horn Sr., her parents, and one sister, Doris Van Moerkerke.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes with Rev. Bob Martin officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, California.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time of 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
