Mr. Larry Dean Brewer, age 78 of Benton, KY passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY.
Born Thursday, November 28, 1940 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Paul Brewer and the late Mary Arvis (Jones) Brewer.
He was a graduate of North Marshall High School class of 1958, a graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Arts. He began his career working for the Tappen Stove Company in Murray, KY, then working over 35 years as a construction supervisor with Air Products in Calvert City, KY. His passions were for collecting and working on street rods, especially a 1950 Chevrolet Fleetline, enjoying riding motorcycles and spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Judy (Marshall) Brewer; son, Bret Brewer, wife Condra of Benton, KY; grandchildren, Candace Burkeen, husband Brian of Bloomington, IL and Dr. Landon Brewer, O.D., wife Leah of Benton, KY; great grandchildren, London Burkeen, Emree Burkeen both of Bloomington, IL and Cohen Brewer of Benton, KY; sister-in-law, Donna Perry, husband William "Bill" of Sharpe, KY; nephew, Mitchell Perry, wife Donna of Louisville, KY; niece, Tracy Perry of Louisville, KY; great nephew, Ryan Perry.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. David Hendrickson will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Perry Cemetery, Brewers, KY.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
