Kenneth “Kenny” D. Minder, 78, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 6:54 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health Lourdes. He was born in Wisconsin. Kenny was retired from retail sales and had worked at Circuit City and other retail stores. He was a member of the Holy House of Prayer. Kenny sang gospel music with the group The Hines. He praised the Lord many times every day of his whole life and never met a stranger. Kenny was an expert on canaries and had traveled to many states plus Canada and England as a judge and showing his canaries. At one time Kenny had over 300 Canaries of various colors and won many awards for his Canaries. He was a member of the Texas Canary Club. Kenny also enjoyed gardening, especially his Daylilies which he had several variations of.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Barbara Louise Waddy Minder; sons, Paul Minder and wife, Nancy and Tim Minder and wife, Rosa all of Houston, Texas; step-son, Carey Ward of Ledbetter, Kentucky; brother, Herbert Minder of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by a son, David Minder and three brothers. His parents were Claude and Cordella Minder.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. O. D. Joiner officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Texas.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
