Karrel Levon “Ace” Wallace died Thursday, September 06, 2018 at Superior Care Home.  He was 88 years of age.

 

Ace was born May 5, 1930 in Pulaski, Illinois.  His parents, Joe and Lora White Wallace, preceded him in death.  His sister, Rose Mary Viers, also preceded him in death.

 

He was a 1947 graduate of Mounds Township High School, Mounds, Illinois and Lockyear’s Business College in Evansville, Indiana.  He also attended Paducah Community College and Murray State University.  He was a veteran of the US Navy where he was awarded Honor Man of CO 131 at the US Naval Training Center, San Diego.  He was  a retiree of Union Carbide Corporation with 32 years of service and Blythe CPA’s and Advisors with 20 years of service. 

 

He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer, trustee and interim choir director.  He was also a member of the Methodist Men and served on many other committees. 

Ace was active in his community serving on the Paducah-McCracken County Senior Adult Board, treasurer of Concord Lions Club, and volunteered at Martha’s Vineyard, Lourdes Auxiliary and as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army.  He also served as treasurer of the Super City Squares and taught line dancing and square dancing at the Paducah Senior Center.  One of his passions was the Heath Football Program, having been one of the supporters from its beginnings in 1969.  He was always a Booster of the Black and Gold.

 

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wilma Jean Clapp Wallace; his daughter, Molly Jean Wallace Blythe (Lars) of Paducah; his son, Michael Andrew “Andy” Wallace (Marsha) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dane Michael Blythe (Allyson), Dr. Emily Grace Blythe Johnston (Lee), Catherine Wallace Blythe DuPerrieu (Andrew), all of Paducah;  Briana Grace Wallace Keyes (Richard) of Denver, Colorado and Callie Marie Wallace of Boulder, Colorado.  Survivors also include his great-grandchildren: Brady, Ally Rose and Calvin Blythe; Rex, Brecken and Walker Johnston and Caroline and Elizabeth DuPerrieu, all of Paducah.  He is also survived by his brother, Joe (Joyce) Wallace of Sarasota, Florida.

 

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Spencer Heights Memorial Cemetery, Mounds, Illinois.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
