Joyce Fox, age 87, of Paducah, KY, formerly of Florence, KY and Louisville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Superior Care Home.

Joyce was born on March 13, 1932 in Corbin, KY to the late Ben and Grace Philpot.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church Paducah television ministry and a former clerk for U.S. Steel.

"Trailblazer" would be the word that best described Joyce.  She forged her own path in life, being an extremely self-sufficient, single woman who picked up her belongings and moved to Pittsburgh to start a career in the male dominated steel industry.  She was tough when she needed to be and had an incredible work ethic, which allowed her to thrive in this vocation.  Joyce also managed to complement her tough-mindedness with wit and humility, always looking to give away what was hers for the benefit of others.

Joyce loved to visit the beach, especially Panama City, and enjoyed Rough River Lake.  She lived for her family and was adept at engaging others and providing humor to those who were blessed to be in her presence.

Mrs. Fox is survived by her stepdaughter, Kerri Thielen and husband, Mark, of Cincinnati, Ohio; her sister, Chola Furrow of Paducah; seven nieces and nephews, Dallas Crook (Vikki), Theresa Sears, Mark Furrow, Kathy Lanpher, Charles Moore (Eileen), Laura Baer (Daryl), and Kistal Key (Dave); and an adoring fan club of great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Moninger; and two sisters, Lela Crook and husband, Joe,  and Opal Ramsey and husband, Charlie; and one brother-in-law, Bill Furrow.

Funeral services, and a celebration of Joyce's hope in Christ, will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Charles Moore officiating.  Burial will follow at a later date at Arlington Memory Gardens, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the 3:00 pm service time on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
