Joseph "Pete" Davis

Joseph H. “Pete” Davis, 84 years old of Bardwell, Kentucky passed on to the house the Lord on Tuesday, June 5th, 2018.  He was born on October 17, 1933 to Jewell Davis and Mayme King Davis.

Pete was retired from General Tire and Rubber of Mayfield where he worked for 25 years.  He also was retired from the U.S. Army where he served 14 years.  He served two of the years as active duty in the Korean war and served the rest of his stay in the 100th Army division as a tank commander.  

He loved the Lord, his family, Mississippi Baptist Church where he attended and the outdoors.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He also loved spending time on the farm with his grandkids and at all their many riding and sporting events.  He was a true UK Basketball and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.

Pete is survived by his wife of 60 years, Yvonne Todd Davis; two sons, Clint Davis and wife Valerie Sims Davis of Bardwell and Blake Davis of Bardwell; two grandchildren, Taylor Davis and Truman Davis. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Reta Beth Davis Pickett. 

Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Bro. Mark Burnett and Bro. Rick Miller officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
