John W. Kilgore, Jr., 78, of Kevil, Kentucky, went to be with his wife of 57 years, at 2:35 A.M., Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was at their home when he passed.
John was born on July 6, 1940 in Paducah, Kentucky to John and Earlene Kilgore. He retired from Paducah Marine Ways. He will be remembered as a “Jack of all trades” who could do just about anything. He loved “tinkering” with various projects and tasks.
Mr. Kilgore is survived by his son, Danny Kilgore (Karen), of Kevil, Kentucky; his sister, Rose Mary Tilford, of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; his brother, Cecil Kilgore, of Tennessee; his grandchildren, William Kilgore (Jessica), Kenneth Kilgore (Alyxia), Kathy Cox (Kevin); his great grandchildren, Joe Kilgore, Rachel Cox, Kristen Cox, Samantha Kilgore, Aurora Kilgore; several aunts, uncles cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his three loyal companions, Tinker, Blackie and Missy.
Mr. Kilgore was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jean Scillion Kilgore; his son, Gary Lynn Kilgore; his parents, John W. Kilgore, Sr. and Earlene Helton Kilgore; his sister, Lois Ann Robertson; his brother, Tom Kilgore.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 10, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Kenny Locke and Rev. Doug Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the funeral home.
