Mr. John P. Bullington, 94, of Murray died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Spring Creek Health Care.
John was born November 20, 1921 in Sentinel, Missouri to the late Edgar and Norma Bullington. The family moved to Santa Paula, CA when he was six months old. After graduating from Santa Paula High School, John served in the Army Air Corps as a fighter pilot and pilot trainer and was stationed in Dothan, Alabama where he married Mary "Bobbie" Jarvis on September 15, 1944. He worked in Ventura, CA for Getty Oil Company in the geology department for 32 years where he worked as an oil scout. He retired in 1980 and moved to Yerington, NV. John and Bobbie lived there until they moved to Almo, KY in September 2007 to be near family. They enjoyed having lunch at the Murray Calloway County Senior Center daily as well as the people it put them in contact with.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary "Bobbie" Bullington of Almo; a daughter, Lynn Wilhelm, husband Don of Almo; son, Phil Bullington, wife Barbara of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Steve Wilhelm, wife Gwenda of Almo and Shannon Anderson, husband George of Katy, TX and six great grandchildren, Brandon Wilhelm of Kingman, AZ, Justin, Brian, and Adam Wilhelm of Almo and Nicole and Lindsey Anderson of Katy, TX.
