Jeff Akin, 51, of Paducah, formerly of Bowling Green, passed away at 12:28 am on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Jeff was the assistant manager of Walmart Southside on Irvin Cobb Dr. in Paducah and had been with the company for 33 years. He was Past President of the McCracken County Youth Soccer Association, Past President of the McCracken County High Soccer Boosters, the team manager for the UK Soccer School girls team and past manager of the Men’s PAO West KY Team; and he was very instrumental to getting soccer into Western Kentucky.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Jennifer Wright Akin; mother, Iva Dodd Akin of Bowling Green; three daughters, Lindsey Marson and husband, Josh of Bowling Green, Brittany Hilger and husband, Nick of Nashville, TN, Bailey Akin of Paducah; son William Zachary “Zach” Akin of Paducah; two sisters, Debbie London and husband, Terry of Bowling Green, Wanda Conner and husband, Roger “Blue” of Nolensville, TN; and his granddaughter Harper “H.K.” Marson who affectionately called him “Pops”.
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Akin and his brother, Dennis Akin.
Funeral services for Jeff will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Jerry Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
