Jane Agnes Cumbee Soper, 81, of Paducah, passed away on June 5, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born in Paducah, KY on June 19, 1936.  She was the glue and bond that held her family together.  Her love and leadership was tireless, and she positively impacted everyone in which she met.   She was a successful entrepreneur her entire professional life, with sales and public activity being her passion.  Her career began as a buyer for Jean’s Lady Apparel and continued as a retail buyer for ladies fashions.  She then developed a successful wholesale fragrance line.  Jane and her husband, Terry, owned and operated Park Avenue Jewelry.  Most recently, Jane retired in her eighties from DARRAH Gifts where she was the sales representative for Central Kentucky.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Paducah, was an officer within Eastern Star, was an original board member for Ballard County Country Club and was awarded Kentucky Colonel.

She wasn't just our Granny Jane, that was merely a title. She was our best friend, a shoulder to lean on, and someone we could just hang out with. She was someone you could get an honest opinion from, no matter the situation. For any occasion, you better be clean shaven, shirt tucked in and have a fresh haircut, or you were certain to hear about it. She was the definition of class and was second to none when it came to making people happy and ensuring they felt important.

Her death doesn't cancel out the life she lived, in fact, it sets the bar just a little bit higher for each of us. She loved deeply and this is an invitation for everyone to share the light she instilled in us with those around us. We love you Granny Jane.” Grandchildren, Hunter Moss, Emily Harper and Alex Harper.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Soper; children, Jane Ann (Moss) Mueller and husband Jeff of Chelsea, Alabama and Mike Moss and wife Lynn of Paducah; step-son, Darren Soper of LaCenter; grandchildren, Hunter (Jenna) Moss, Emily Harper, and Alex Harper; great-grandchild, Porter Jane Moss; and siblings, Lou Anna (Paul) Hankins of LaCenter, Leigh Hansen of Paducah, and George (Suzanne) Cumbee of Paducah.

Preceding her in death were a brother, Linney Cumbee;  her parents, G.H. and Ethel (Swope) Cumbee; and late husband, Bob Moss.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Charles Moore officiating.  Burial will follow at LaCenter Gardens.  Visitation will begin at 11am Saturday at the funeral home.
