James “Tack Hammer” Edward Scott, age 67, of Paducah, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, 7:00 p.m. at his residence.
James was of the Baptist faith and had sung in a gospel quartet, “The Holy Aires”. He was a graduate of Lone Oak High School and a retired mechanic with Shelby’s Wheel and Tire Company of Paducah, Inc.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry Scott of St. Louis, MO and Ryan Edwin Scott of Princeton; one daughter, Jerrica Scott of Evansville, IN; one granddaughter; two grandsons; two sisters, Betty Ellis of Las Vegas, NV and Marsha Roundtree of Paducah; four brothers, Riley Arnold, Larry Arnold, Sr., Fred Hunt and Keith Hunt, all of Paducah; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Scott and Viola Scott Hunt; two brothers; four sisters including one in infancy.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2018, 12:00 noon, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Michael Wade and Reverend Charles E. Dunbar officiating.
Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
There will be no burial.
