James Damon McGregor, 94, of Symsonia passed away at 4:30 AM on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at his residence. Mr. McGregor was a Pipefitter with the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union 184 of Paducah, a Veteran of the Army during WWII and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by one sister, Thelma Marie Peeler of Paducah; several nieces and nephews including, Raymond Peeler Jr. of Paducah, Sandra Smith of Jackson, MS, Beverly Parrish of Paducah, Ramona Abshire of Mayfield, James Peeler of Paducah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Young McGregor and Lena Rivers (Poindexter) Woodard; three sisters, Louise Rich, Lena Mae Childers, Frankie Belle Kellum; wife, Velva Neal McGregor; daughter, Martha Lee McGregor. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Tommy Peeler officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Palestine Cemetery in West Paducah. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the funeral home.
