Howard Wayne Hicks, age 82, of Paducah, passed away at 8:30 PM, January 12, 2018 at his residence.
He was longtime owner of Wayne’s Body Shop in Paducah for over 50 years and a well known auto body repairman. He refurbished and sold antique cars and street rod cars and even built a 1929 LaSalle Cadillac car from scratch. He was a member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church and loved singing hymns especially at area nursing homes.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammie Morris and husband Mike of Hickory, KY and a son, Howard Wayne Hicks Jr. and JoAnn Herndon of Paducah. He leaves behind a granddaughter, Shanna Carper and grandson, Cody Clark and two great-grandsons, Nolan and Conner.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jean Clark Hicks and a son, Christopher Lynn Hicks. His parents were Howard Haskell Hicks and Floy Alice Warren Hicks.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 18, 2018 at
Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jason Burnett officiating and entombment in Brooks Memorial Mausoleum.
