Hilda B. Womble went home to be with her Lord and Savior June 3, 2018.  Hilda was born in Graves County and was the eldest of 4 children born to Clyde & Clemis Wyman.  Hilda married James A. Womble June of 1951 and they were blessed with 5 children James, Carol, Tim, Richard and Mark which where her pride and joy.  Hilda was a loving Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother and Grandmother her family was very important to her.

 

Hilda retired from McCracken County School System in the early 70’s where she drove a school bus and loved every day of it.  She was a founding member of the Lone Oak KY Colonel band boosters.  She was Band Mom for many years where she was affectionately called Momma Womble by all.  No matter what you needed anything from a band aid to a uniform repair and of course laughter and love was always given in abundance.  She also enjoyed sewing, needle point, cooking, line dancing, traveling, listening to Andrea Bocelli and she was always there to help anyone when needed.  Hilda was one of the first volunteers for the Carson Center and she was so proud to be a part of the history and the story of the Carson Center and she was a dedicated and faithful servant of the lord at New Hope CP Church.

 

 She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years James A. Womble, her parents Clyde & Clemis Wyman, brother Joe Wyman and daughter in law Ronda Womble.

 

Hilda is survived by her sons Jim (Johanne), Tim (Karmen), Richard, Mark (Leigh), daughter Carol (Pete) Hughes, 12 Grand Children, 13 Great Grand Children, sister Nancy Logan, brother Leslie (Karen) Wyman, sister in law Pam Wyman and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bud Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

 

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
