Glenn Allan Smith, age 77 of Boaz, Ky passed away at 12:41 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Glenn was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a 1958 graduate of Symsonia High School. Glenn retired as Sales Manager for Turner Dairy. Glenn had a passion for golf and his job after retirement was working at Paxton Park Golf Course in the Pro Shop. He took great pride in his yard and seeing that it was mowed in a timely manner. Glenn enjoyed people and visiting and talking with his friends.
Survivors include wife of 54 years, Judy Ann Hobbs Smith; one daughter, Gina Winfield and husband, David of Paducah; one son, Russell “Rusty” Smith and wife, Marjorie of Paducah; two sisters, Rachel Kyle and Kay (John) Young both of O’Fallon, Missouri; two grandchildren, Zachary Winfield and Kathryn Winfield; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were parents, Thomas Allan Smith and Iona Mae Hackney Smith; two sisters, Mary Ann Holmes Gossum, Carolyn Hutchens; two brothers, Mark Smith and Keith Smith.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce Fogle officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with prayers to begin at 5:00 p.m.
