Gladys Henson Schoening, 89, of Paducah, formerly of Livingston County, passed away at 8:09 am on Wednesday, February, 10, 2016 at Baptist Health Paducah.
She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, 25 year member of the Eastern Star, and had retired from Florshiem Shoe Factory.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Hays Whitfield and husband Dr. Matt Whitfield of Shelby NC; three step sons, Jimmy Lee Schoening of Paducah, Clarence “Buddy” Schoening of Nashville, TN, Jewel Wayne Schoening of KY; two sisters, Dorothy Stacy of Paducah, KY, Del Henson of Grand Rivers, KY; five brothers, Orvle Henson, Roy Henson, Willis Henson, Paul Henson, Don Henson; two grandchildren, Douglas Whitfield and wife Dr. Wendy Nguyen of Cincinnati OH, Evan Whitfield and wife Summer of Shelby NC; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Durward Elmore Hays and her second husband Arthur H. Schoening Jr., one step daughter, Marie Martin and one brother, Cecil Henson. Her parents were Bennett Henson and Melva Driskill Henson.
Funeral services for Gladys will be 12:00 noon Saturday, February, 13, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Willis Henson and Dr. Brad Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Owens Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation for Gladys will be from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon, February, 13, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
