Gerald Everett Butterbaugh, 92, of Wickliffe, KY passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah, KY. 

Known as “Jerry” to his friends, he was born January 23, 1927 to George and Elsie Violet Butterbaugh in Tyrone, PA.  He graduated from Tyrone High School in Tyrone, PA and enlisted in the Army Air Corp, serving in the Philippines in WWII.  Upon returning from the service Jerry was employed by Westvaco at their Tyrone, PA facility.  Jerry moved to Wickliffe with his family as a member of the staff charged with opening the Westvaco paper mill there. Retiring after 42 years of service, Jerry an avid golfer enjoyed winters golfing in Florida with the love of his life, his wife, Ellie.  Over everything else he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Jerry was a charter member of Grace United Methodist Church in LaCenter, KY.

Surviving are one daughter, Joanne (Bryan) Trible of Evansville, IN; three sons, John (Gloria) Butterbaugh of Wickliffe, Tom (Cindy) Butterbaugh and Tim Butterbaugh both of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Chris (Christy) Halteman of Wickliffe, KY, Maggie (Chris) Stewart of Pasadena, MD, Austin (Michaela) Butterbaugh of Charleston, SC, Emma Trible of Evansville, IN, Adam (Kirstin) Butterbaugh of Paducah, Eric (Heather) Butterbaugh of Paducah, and Sean (Sarah) Butterbaugh of Lexington, KY; five great-grandchildren, Gemma Halteman, Landon Butterbaugh, Adalynn Butterbaugh, Marissa Butterbaugh, William Stewart and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his wife Ella Mae, his parents and five siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Rev. Ben Boone officiating.  Burial will follow at Wickliffe City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
