Gary Leon Neeble, 66, of Paducah, went home to be with the Lord at 11:30 pm, August 16th, at LTACH at Baptist Health.

Gary retired from the Canadian National Railroad (formerly Illinois Central Railroad) in 2017 after 43 years of service.  He started his career in March 1974 with the Illinois Central Railroad in Paducah as crew caller.  He worked in many other positions and in 1980 was promoted to Risk Manager until his retirement.  During his time with the railroad, he won several awards and honorable mentions at the General Claims Conference over the years.  Gary loved to read, do woodwork, and was a collector of train engines, coins and books. 

Gary was very active in church and loved working for the Lord.  He was interim pastor of Bethel Pentecostal Church for four years.  He loved to teach God’s word.  He was a former member of New Destiny Church of God, Centralia, IL, where he taught Sunday School, worked in Children’s Church, and filled in for many pastors over the years.

Gary is a former KY Colonel and he served in the Coast Guard Reserves for three years.

Gary is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly (Verble) Neeble.  One daughter, the pride and joy of his life, Dr. Mandy Diamond and son-in-love Keenen of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.  His other pride and joy, twin grandchildren Makayla Begazo and Kaden Begazo of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.  His two brothers, Terry Neeble and wife, Rita of Calvert City, KY and Ricky Neeble and wife, Tina of Lyman, SC.  His sister, Karen Carter and husband, Rickey of Calvert City, KY.  He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Betty (Myre) Neeble and one sister, Theresa Turner.

Gary’s funeral will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Larry Morse and Rev. Roger Whetstone officiating and Gary’s daughter, Dr. Mandy Diamond, will give a eulogy.  Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Kenton cemetery, Lone Oak.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to all of the nurses and doctors at LTACH at Baptist Health who took such good care of Gary.  Also, special thanks to the Fresenius Care Dialysis Center nurses and doctors who also cared for Gary.
