Today April 24, 2018 our mom Frances Elladean Lamar lost her hard fought battle with cancer. She fought courageously for nine months and thought we beat it before we got the news. Frances was a fabulous daughter, mother, aunt, cousin and friend to all who knew her.
She volunteered much of her time to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, River City Lodge, and loved to garden, travel, and collect antiques. She will live on in the number of trees, bushes and flowers that she has planted at current and past residences.
Frances was born on April, 1, 1941 in Fancy Farm in Graves County, KY. She graduated from Fancy Farm High School in 1958 and attended Draughens Business College in Paducah. She worked for years at the Ritz Hotel in Paducah, and has many fond memories.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Celestine and Nell (Phipps) Cissell; her husband of over 20 plus years, William “Bill” Lamar; her sisters, Nadine Hobbs, and Jeannette Cissell; and her brother, Bill Cissell.
She leaves behind her children, Deborah Wines, John Wines, both of Paducah; and Melissa “Lissy” Wines (husband Joe Vap), of Louisville, KY; brother, Allen Cissell wife, Mona of Fancy Farm. She was especially proud of all her grandchildren, Alec Wines, Alicia Wines, Elissa Wines-Mitchell, Ella Vap and Elijah Vap.
Funeral services for Frances will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday at the Funeral home.
