Mrs. Frances Arvella Burkeen, age 89 of Benton, KY died on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, KY. She was a member of the Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Marshall County Hospital Auxiliary. She was a retired seamstress for Merit Clothing.
Born Saturday, May 11, 1929 in Marshall Co, KY, she was the daughter of the late James William Groves and the late Lillian Edgar (Lee) Groves.
Surviving are grandchildren, Brad Burkeen, wife Faith of Benton, KY, Dustin Burkeen, wife Karen of Murray, KY, and great-grandchildren, Tiffany Miller, Toree McMain, Tristan Holland, Paige Burkeen, Bradley Burkeen, Michaela Burkeen, Mackenzi Burkeen, and great-great grandchild, Teegan Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles O. Burkeen, son, Bruce Owen Burkeen, great-great grandchild, Tinley Miller, and brothers, Donald Groves and James "Popeye" Groves.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025, Rev. Jeremy Short officiating.
Interment will follow in the Unity Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Collier Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Unity Church Building Fund or the Twin Lakes Worship Center.
